Return of the Science Fair

During 2020-2021 school year students lost out on a lot of opportunities. Although Clyde Hill Elementary School was in a hybrid schedule with some classes still fully remote, I saw an opportunity to bring back a tradition. As summer weather began to arrive, I designed a science fair that met Covid precautions and allowed students to show off their projects to friends, teachers and families.

Ultimately, more than 100 students put together projects that were presented in the School's covered outdoor play area. Science fair projects help teach students about the scientific method and how to present information.

While the science fair is a great activity, it was also an incredible opportunity to start rebuilding the school community and to bring families together. This was one of the only social events that happened in BSD elementary schools in 2020-2021.
